So is this where we post pirate stories? I'd like to share a story of how I made off with 1 billion ISK from a buncha jerks, and destroyed probably 4 billion in their assets.
It was at the beginning of 2011, I was starting to play EVE more seriously and really getting into mininng, industry, etc. I was looking for a corp wherein I could put some BPOs in their POS and start producing ships with an actual profit margin. I didn't have much luck for a few months because every corp I joined thought I was a spy for asking about the POS. (...).
Eventually I found a corp that said it was "a possibility". The CEO was a bit of a **** though. He was constantly telling me to "watch my attitude" and to "learn some respect". I had no idea what his deal was, as I don't think I ever actually did anything wrong. This went on for 3 weeks. I was getting tired of it.
Well I went offline for a week and when I come back, I got into my trusty Hulk and went out to mine. A blinky flashy red guy in a Drake came out and blew me up. Ouch! It turns out we had been wardecced and I didn't even realize it. A few people in chat were yelling at me for "losing the war" for them. I was explaining that I had no idea you could lose a war in EVE, and asked how it affected us. The CEO once again told me to "drop the attitude" and one of the people who were yelling at me said "i suggest you do as he says". Well, all this displaying and posturing and chest beating was really wearing my nerves down.
Finally after 1.5 months, I was given access to the POS. Not just as factory manager... no I was given Starbase Configuration role. I remember the day I got access from a director, the CEO was again being a **** and threatening me...
Oh I remember how sweet it was, at 3 AM, warping out to the 4 towers in the system, offlining and unanchoring modules. The first thing I did was cancel all the jobs... some of the jobs were 28 days long and only had a few hours left on them... heheh and a few of the jobs belonged to people who were real dicks to me... The next thing I did was take all the fuel out of all the towers, including Strontium.
I then began to offline and unanchor the modules and haul them back to station. This was when it took like 5 minutes for each module. Some of the modules I couldn't unanchor because they contained items and I couldn't see the hangars they were in. Others were empty. A few had BPOs in the hangar I could see. I was only able to steal 1 small tower because it only had 3 empty labs anchored on it. I stole probably 1 billion in BPOs, POS modules, and fuel.
But that wasn't the best part. The best part was when I realized that, even in a Hurricane, it didn't take that long to blow up the Large Ship Assembly Array. And I had lots of ammo to spare... I think you can figure out from here what happened to the modules that I couldn't rip off the towers. It really sucks for them... they had a lot of big ships like covetors, freighters, cruisers, etc being built, along with ammo... all gone...
I remember the next day when I logged on, oh the messages I received... |
